Pokémon Center is Pokémon's own chain of stores in Japan, with Pokémon Center Online as its web shop. Some products are made only for Pokémon Center. Those exclusives are among the hardest Japanese releases to get hold of.
How Pokémon Center sells exclusives
Popular releases go on sale through a lottery on Pokémon Center Online. You apply during a set window and winners are drawn, with a limit of one per person. New expansion boxes are sold the same way, including Storm Emeralda and the 30th Celebration boxes, which needed extra lottery rounds to meet demand.
The Tohoku, Hiroshima and Fukuoka Special Boxes

Pokémon released three Special Boxes in Japan on 13 June 2025 to mark the renovation of Pokémon Center Tohoku, Pokémon Center Hiroshima and Pokémon Center Fukuoka. Each box is designed around its own region and holds the same set of contents, with a promo card unique to that box.
| Box | Promo card |
|---|---|
| Tohoku Special Box | Tohoku's Pikachu |
| Hiroshima Special Box | Hiroshima's Pikachu |
| Fukuoka Special Box | Fukuoka's Pikachu |
Every box holds its holo promo card with a set of 64 matching sleeves, a deck case and a long card box. There are no booster packs inside. Demand was strong enough that Pokémon announced extra production, but they remain Pokémon Center releases that never went to general retail.
Why collectors want them
Each regional Pikachu exists only in its own box, so a collector after all three needs all three boxes. Because they were sold by lottery through Pokémon Center channels, far fewer reached collectors outside Japan than an ordinary set. The Pikachu guide covers the other Pikachu cards worth knowing.
